
Selection Requirements
Selection to Team Honda is subject to fulfilling and agreeing to all the below qualification requirements. Hopefuls understand that they are not entering a raffle or a sweepstakes and instead understand that their entry submission will be reviewed thoroughly, and selection will be made based on the fulfillment of all requirements.
Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America Requirements
Time Limit
To qualify for Team Honda, runners will be required to be capable of completing the full Marathon in under 6 hours total.
Runner's Why
Each entrant will be required to describe and share why they would like to be selected to run the 2025 Boston Marathon® with Team Honda.
Previous Experience
Though not required, it is strongly encouraged that each entrant has previously completed a Marathon. Prior experience may be factored into selection decisions, though will not immediately disqualify entrants that do not have prior experience.
Team Honda Requirements
Fund Raising
As Team Honda's entries are tied to a Bank of America Boston Marathon® Official Charity program member, Team Honda runners will be required to fund raise throughout their training leading up to the Marathon. Runners will be strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of $6,700 each to help the team reach the overall minimum team goal of $100,000.
*Note: Runners who meet the individual threshold of $6,700 will unlock specialty perks for Marathon weekend
Age
All runners must be 18 years or older to be considered for selection to Team Honda,
Expenses
Team Honda will cover the cost of each runners Boston Marathon entry fee and will provide each runner with matching team apparel. Runners will be solely responsible for all other expenses incurred (i.e.; travel, accommodations, meals, etc).
Photo & Video Content
Photo and video may be captured or requested from runners during training and training events, so runners should be comfortable with their likeness appearing on NE Honda Dealers and Boston Athletic Association social channels. Runners will be asked to consent to their likeness being used by NEHD and/or the BAA on their entry. Not consenting to this will not immediately disqualify entrants, though may be taken into consideration during the selection process.
Training Events
Though not required, runners will be strongly encouraged to attend Team Honda organized training events when scheduled. These training events will be great opportunities for runners to get to know fellow Team Honda runners and may be where team items (i.e.; apparel) are distributed.
Locality
To allow for runners to more easily participate in training events and travel to and from the Marathon, it is strongly encourage that Team Honda runners are located in New England region (i.e.; Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island). While strongly encouraged, entrants who are not from the New England region will not be immediately disqualified from consideration.
